Sadly, for those who haven't heard, we announce the retirements of Professors Margo Perkins and Dianne Hunter. They will both be missed, come this fall.

We're very excited to announce that two new faces to meet, in the fall of 08, include Diana Paulin, a shared AM Studies and English department resource, and Abby Salerno, taking on some of our film studies work, while also the newest English department member.

The week of April 7th begins Advising Week, and then Registration begins on April 14th. It's time again for our semester ritual of Festivus!! Festivus this term will be held TODAY, April 7 from 4:30-6:00 on the first floor of 115 VS.

The Jim Murray Memorial Foundation (JMMF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, established in 1999 to perpetuate the Jim Murray legacy, and his love for and dedication to his extraordinary career in journalism. The JMMF mission is to award seven (7) $7,500 scholarships annually to print journalism students through a nationwide essay competition.

The Jim Murray Memorial Foundation will issue a $7,500 scholarship check to Trinity College, to be used for the scholarship recipient's 2008-2009 academic needs. The "Murray Scholars" are invited to attend an awards presentation and be recognized at the 2008 Murray Scholar Reception and Awards dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday, September 18, 2008. Air and hotel accommodations will be provided for each Murray Scholar.

2008 English Prizes

Open to ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS (INCLUDING IDP) submissions for prizes will be accepted in the English Department administrative offices until the deadline of Friday, April 4, 2008 at 4pm.
